How to Add or Remove a Notification Recipient

You may want to share your sensor’s notifications with family, friends, and others, without creating a new app login for them. Those who receive alerts from you via email or SMS (but do not have an app login) are called notification recipients.  

This article explains how to add a notification recipient to your account. Recipients must be added to each individual notification that you want them to receive. There is no limit to the number of recipients that can be added to receive a notification. 

 

Unlike users, notification recipients do not have access to your account and do not need the All Aware app downloaded to receive notification. They will only receive sensor alerts via SMS or email. If you would like to give others access to your account, see How to Add a User to your Account

How to Add Notification Recipient using the All Aware app on a mobile device:  

  1. Log in to the All Aware app 
  2. Tap the menu bar icon in the top left corner of the screen 
  3. Tap Notifications 
  4. Tap the gear icon to view the setting. You now have the choice to add them to an existing notification or create a new notification and add them to it. The majority of users will choose an existing notification under the “Active Notifications” section. 
  5. Tap the plus sign to create a new notification, or tap an existing notification to add them to it. 
  6. Scroll down to the “Recipients” section. Tap Add To choose notification recipients Now you have the choice to add a new Contact, or choose from an existing Contact. 
  7. To add a new Contact, tap Add Contact and follow the prompts. To select an existing Contact, simply select them from the list.  
  8.  Once all desired recipients are selected, tap Close 
  9. Verify all recipients are correct 
  10. Tap Save 

 

 

If an existing Contact or notification recipient needs to be updated, you can update their information in your All Aware app. Select the menu in the top left, tap Users, select the Contact, and then edit their information as needed. Their information is automatically saved.
 
 
Congratulations! You have successfully added a notification recipient. If you would like to create additional notification recipients, simply follow the steps above for each desired recipient.  

 

 

 

How to Remove a Notification Recipient using the All Aware app on a mobile device:  

  1. Log in to the All Aware app 
  2. Tap the menu bar icon in the top left corner of the screen 
  3. Tap Notifications 
  4. Tap the gear icon in the top right to view the settings 
  5. Tap the notification you wish to edit 
  6. Scroll down to the “Recipients” section, tap the X next to the notification recipient(s) you wish to remove 
  7. Tap Save 

         

        The notification recipient will now stop receiving notifications only for the notification that you specified. To remove them from other notifications, simply follow the steps above for each notification you wish to edit.
